Frequently Washing Your Face Would Help You Get Rid of Acne - WRONG

Maybe this second myth seems funny for you. But there are still a lot of people that, consciously or not, associate acne and blackheads with the lack of personal hygiene and dirt. This is, obviously, a misconception: the black color is simply compact keratin, but we will discuss about the inner mechanism of acne a little bit later.

What you should remember is that acne is not caused by dirt and it would not go away after frequently washing your face. In the context of excessive skin oil secretions and blocked hair follicles a type of bacteria named Propionibacterium acnes turns up. So hardly-washing or scrubbing the skin areas that are affected by acne not only that will not have any positive result, but will also have side effects.

Your skin could get very dry and irritated, which can worsen your situation. If you scrub your skin, you should be careful not to do it excessively, because the skin could be also irritated and even wounded and that will be a bag thing to happen: acne will spread and you could also get permanent scars!

So you must be very careful! A proper hygiene is not the same thing with exaggeratedly cleaning your skin till you hurt yourself. If you practice any sport, you also have to know that sweating won’t aggravate acne. In fact a normal individual is very likely to sweat when making a physical effort and that’s quite normal and healthy.
