Acne Myth No. 6 - Part III
The More Oil Your Skin Is Provided with, the More Beautiful It Will Be! - WRONG
An ironically funny thing is that there are so many products that are in fact causing acne that the doctors have even invented a word for calling these products’ ability to induce the skin disorder: “acnegenicity”. Acnegenicity refers to both the products that induce the basic form of acne, as well as the ones that induce comedones, which is a more severe form of the acne.
Anyway, you’ll later find out what are all the known forms of acne, as well as the ways you’ll be able to fight them. But till then we’ll discuss a little about which cosmetics are likely to induce acne, and how in fact they produce the disorder.
So, you have to know that although most of the cosmetic products are labeled of having been tested for acnegenicity, there are still a lot of people suffering from acne that should not take the labels by word. As the producers are trying to sell their products as the best on the market, acne sufferers are mislead, without in fact know the true cause of their skin disorder.
So, the first rule is not very full-bodied, but still you should take it into account: “Be careful what products you buy; they could be harming your skin, although their labels say just the opposite!”
On the other hand you need to understand why the fact that some skin and hair care products’ ability of inducing acne is no longer a myth. The major element that exists in these products and contributes in inducing the skin disorder is the oil.
The presence of excess oil in these cosmetic products, which is the cause for skin disorder, is caused itself by another common belief or myth: that is the belief that sebum is in fact beneficial for your skin, which is just the opposite of its real effect. On the other hand, ironically, the chemical oils have proved to be even more malicious for people’s skin that their natural sebum in causing acne. Stearic acid and Myristate are the most used such types of chemicals, so if you see their names written on the cosmetics’ labels, stay away!
