Types and Forms of Acne

This is a very important topic, as acne appears in very different forms and sometimes people are mistakenly confound it with other skin disorders. So, being able to distinguish between the types of acne is a good thing, which will help you in your battle against acne. The most common types of acne are:

• Severe Acne Vulgaris, which is the next, severe stage of mild Acne Vulgaris and which features nodules and cysts. As you might have noticed these are no longer spots, but palpable formations that are very likely to leave you with unaesthetic scars;
• Acne Rosacea, which is a common type of acne that is sometimes mistaken for Acne Vulgaris.
There exist also some types of acne that are though to be really severe forms of this skin disorder. These are:
• Ance Conglobata, which affects rather males than females, and features large wounds and lesions and is sometimes interconnecting with other simpler forms of acne;
• Acne Fulminans, which is usually affecting young men and features severe nodules and cysts that are often apparent ulcerations; this several type of the skin disorder is in fact an abrupt onset of Acne Conglobata;
• Gram-Negative Folliculitis, which represents a bacterial infection featuring cysts and pustules;
• Pyoderma Faciale, which affects only women and consists from very painful and unaesthetic pustules, nodules and sores, which could leave you with scars.
These are the major types of acne; as you could already see, the mixed types of skins are very common, and because of this and not only the types of acne could also mix one with another resulting more complex forms of the skin disorder.
