Hormones, Age Periods and Acne

Now you will be able to briefly read a little bit about how hormones get imbalanced at the specific periods of time.

• Puberty
Although the children seem to be still so young, pure and innocent, their inner adrenal glands begin to secrete dihydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS), which is an androgen. Then testosterone and dehydrotestosterone (DHT) join in at the onset of puberty.
Joining forces, all these hormones start stimulating the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum and because the boys have more male hormones, such as the testosterone, the teen acne tends to affect and to be more severe in them, than in the girls.

• Adulthood
But it will come women’s turn too! The researches show that many women get acne during their adulthood, as some of them may start getting the skin disorder in their mid 20s or 30s, experiencing constant breakouts the week before their period.

But all in all, every acne suffer, whether young or less young women and men, as well as the teenagers who experience acne should definitely see a dermatologist, especially if the disorder seems to persist. Acne is not infallible, but people should really want to get rid of it!
