Severe Acne Vulgaris
Things get nasty if Moderate Acne Vulgaris goes to the further stage of Severe Acne Vulgaris. All the types of acne that have been mentioned in the previous post will still appear on your skin, but they will be accompanied by (other) lesions, which will be this time even worse and more severe than in the milder form of Acne Vulgaris.
This time your skin will be “attacked” by formations called nodules and cysts. These really deep lesions that are very much alike one to another and they are much more irritating, unaesthetic and infectious than the previous stage’s pustules, papules, blackheads and whiteheads. They are bumpy and also very painful and are likely to leave you with scars.
We’ll try to share with you some information by both nodules and cysts. If you have them already, don’t worry, there’s also a solution for everything. But if you don’t have them, try not reach this stage of Severe Acne Vulgaris. Don’t forget that acne CAN really be defeated!
• Nodules
The nodules can be easily recognized because you see them as some hard bumps under your skin’s surface. They are often very painful and they could last for a large period of time (months, for example). Comparing to the lesions that appear along with the previous type of acne, the Moderate Acne Vulgaris, nodules are larger and don’t feature the same consistency.
You should know that the nodules are some of the most severe forms that acne could get. They are really unaesthetic, so whoever you are, man or woman, teenage or adult, don’t let nodules deform your natural beauty!
Nodules are very likely to leave scares on your skin! That is why you must not, in any case!, try to squeeze or “pop” such lesions as nodules. Nodules are not whiteheads or blackheads and if squeezed they could cause severe trauma to your skin and the lesions could last for months longer than they normally would.
• Cysts
When you have cysts you can also say that you suffer from cystic acne. These bumps appear similar to a nodule, but they are puss-filled and can have a diameter of more than 5 mm.
Cysts are also painful and similarly to nodules they must not be squeezed, because this might lead to a deeper and more severe infection, which comes along with a longer more painful inflammation. If you squeeze your acne cysts you can also get deep scars.
You could recognize a cyst by its pus-filled, sac-life formation. These characteristics also reveal the fact that cysts are some of the worst infections that can occur in your skin. In fact the infection develops around the primary infection site by spreading under the skin to the adjoining tissue. The infection’s large amounts of pus are running deep in your skin. That is why cystic acne is very painful and very likely to leave you with scars.
You must also know that the cysts appear and develop more frequently if you are squeezing pus-filled acne formations. This happens because you help the pus to burst deep or even deeper into your skin tissue. When this happens, your body sanguine system sends many white blood cells to the infected area for fighting against the infection.
But this also brings swelling, causing deep rooted inflammation and eventually a lot of pain. So, try to remember not to squeeze, nor even pinch your pus-filled acne formations.
Cysts are not only unaesthetic, but also painful!
