Acne and Hygiene

We’ve ended our last small article about sport and acne with the recommendation for you to have showers after you’re done with your physical exercises. But there are cases when people become obsessive with showering and bathing. They think that this will help them get rid of acne; some of these persons even consider themselves somehow dirty and monstrous because they suffer from this skin disease. Well, they are wrong, wrong, wrong!
However, you must not exaggerate with anything. Although showering is good after you run, play tennis or as part of your daily hygiene, becoming a maniac about showering will harm your skin as well as your mental health.
Although we have already stressed on the fact that acne is not caused in any case by dirt, we want to remind this also now, when talking about showers. Bathing is relaxing, showering is necessary, but we should not become crazy people, scrubbing our skin and faces so that we could destroy our acne. It won’t work and it will as well harm us a lot!

Acne is a disease and we can’t fight against it by rubbing our faces with hard rocks. You must use medicaments and pills and lotions and fight it at its roots. Acne is caused by a combination of factors you can’t control, like your hormone balance and the natural pace of your skin’s renewal system.
However, although you can’t control the apparition of acne, you can action against its known causes.
Fortunately, there are also a number of things you can control that may help us keep your acne in check. One of these things is hygiene.
Hygiene is a necessary thing and you should treat like that. You should wash your body so that you could keep it healthy.
You should also be very careful to the parts where your skin is affected by acne, so that you wouldn’t cause them more harm. You should as well use special anti-acne lotions and treatments.
But, first of all, you should never forget to wash!
