Three More Things We Should Pay Attention to

There are three more things we should pay attention to when it comes about physical exercises and acne.
As we’ve already said, exercises don’t cause acne; in fact they help your entire body to feel better and to work properly. However, this does not mean that you are free to be negligent about your body and to run, to sweat and not to pay attention to being careful about the sweat.
So, excepting the things we’ve already mentioned, there still three other very important issues to which you should pay attention when and after you practice:

1. Your Equipment

It is likely for you to have been already told thousand and thousand of times that you should make the physical exercises you make only after you have chosen the most appropriate sport equipment.
Some of us, however, haven’t had the chance to have a sport teacher, or at least a retired gym teacher as a father… Some of us don’t know how important this sport equipment is in fact.

There are sports where practicing without helmet or special trousers, for example, could be very dangerous.
But there also sports that seem not to require special equipment. A T-shirt, some sport shoes and some old trousers seem fit for running, making some gym moves or just stretching. But this is not an appropriate thought when you suffer from acne.
Despite the fact that they seem to be so insignificant, these clothes touch our skin and they are also very likely to harm it if they are not made from adequate material.
That is why you should always buy the clothes you need for the sport you like and you should notice whether these clothes are made from natural or artificial fiber. You should try to choose clothes made entirely from cotton; although you’ll sweat, the clothes will absorb your sweat and you’ll have just to change them after you’re done.
Cotton is recommended also because it is soft and it can’t aggravate your lesions cause by acne.
The best defense against friction-related breakouts is also a good fit. You should make sure that your clothes or your wetsuit aren’t too tight under your arms, or that your helmet doesn’t slider around on your forehead, for example. Friction is not good in any cause, especially when you suffer from acne it becomes quite painful.
If you’re prone to body acne, you should also avoid garments made exclusively with lycra or nylon, because some synthetic fabrics can trap the heat and moisture against your skin, creating a fertile breeding ground for the bacteria that contribute to acne. For moderate exercise, your best bet is lightweight, loose-fitting cotton, or a lycra-cotton blend. Natural fabrics allow the skin to breathe, and loose garments are less likely to cause friction. If you’re exercising vigorously and working up a good sweat, however, you may want to try some of the new fabrics designed to wick moisture away from your skin.
So, keep in mind, buy yourself fit equipment and a major part of your problems will disappear!
