Sleep and Acne

December 27th, 2007 Posted in What Is Acne

Surprisingly or not, sleep represents the simplest and one of the most efficient ways of helping your skin. Women from all over the world, as well as scientists, have agreed that a good night’s sleep, that is at least eight hours of sleep, can do wonder for our acne and for our whole body’s health.
It is indeed surprising, but if we think about it, we can’t disagree that a relaxed, well-rested body is more efficient than a tired one. This happens because a healthy and well-rested body has the necessary resources to build a strong immune system. This body is able to protect us against all the threats that may appear. Sleep and acne are no friends!
Although a robust immune system will not prevent acne altogether, it can help fight infection so that our acne lesions may clear up more quickly.

When it comes about sleep, our body isn’t too picky, luckily: interrupted sleep in the daytime is just as beneficial. So if you work late, sleep late, but try to maintain a regular schedule.
